The Addiction Professionals Certification Board of New Jersey (APCB) requires university-based classroom instruction for initial certifications/licensure such as the CADC and LCADC. As a NAADAC/IC&RC approved distance learning provider, our coursework can be used to fulfill New Jersey CADC/LCADC continuing education requirements only.
Please contact the APCB for programs that can be used to satisfy the initial certification/licensure requirements.
To maintain a New Jersey CADC certification, counselors are required to complete:
A maximum of 30 of the 60 hours can be completed through distance learning programs. 30 of the 60 hours must be completed through live in-person instruction. Please contact our office to find out about our next live instruction training.
To maintain a New Jersey LCADC certification, counselors are required to complete:
A maximum of 20 of the 40 hours can be completed through distance learning programs. 20 of the 40 hours must be completed through live in-person instruction. Please contact our office to find out about our next live instruction training.
*Please note, our coursework does not cover the required 6 hours of in-person instruction in legal standards related to the practice of alcohol and drug counseling in New Jersey.

Get your certificate of completion. Once you pass all the exams, we will issue you a certificate of completion that verifies the number of hours you completed and topics that were covered in your coursework. You use this certificate to towards the education requirements needed to renew your certification/license with your state board. We will also keep a record of your coursework in case you need it in the future.

Upon successful completion of your online addiction courses for New Jersey CADC/LCADC recertification, you will need to submit your certificates of completion along with the rest of your application packet to the state board.
