Understanding South Dakota SUD Counseling Certifications
Trainings are provided under the NAADAC Education Provider #99236 and the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) Education and Training Provider Certification #0559. NYS OASAS is a member board of IC&RC. NAADAC/IC&RC approved distance-learning trainings are accepted by the South Dakota Board of Addiction and Prevention Professionals (BAPP) for Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) continuing education requirements.
Distance learning courses for purposes of initial licensure/certification are not currently approved by the South Dakota Board of Addiction and Prevention Professionals (BAPP). Please contact the South Dakota BAPP for programs that can be used to satisfy the initial certification/licensure requirements.
