The Center for Addiction Studies and Research is an NAADAC/IC&RC approved provider of distance-learning education for Wyoming substance abuse certification.

Trainings are provided under the NAADAC Education Provider #99236 and the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) Education and Training Provider Certification #0559. NYS OASAS is a member board of IC&RC. NAADAC/IC&RC approved distance-learning trainings are accepted by the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board for Certified Addictions Practitioner Assistant (CAPA) certification and for CAPA, CAP, and LAT continuing education requirements.

Documentation of 270 hours of addictions specific course work including:

A minimum of 200 hours must be related specifically to addictions therapy including training/education in addictions assessment
A maximum of 70 hours in general mental health discipline subjects
30 contact hours in counseling ethics
6 hours of training in communicable diseases

Wyoming Substance Abuse Certification Continuing Education Requirements and Courses

Certified Addictions Practitioner Assistant (CAPA, CAP, LAT)

Documentation of 45 hours of continuing education every two years.

At least 3 hours must be in professional ethics, 3 hours in suicide assessment or intervention, and at least 15 hours must be in addiction specific topics.

There is no limit on the number of continuing education contact hours that can be earned through home study distance learning trainings.
