The Center for Addiction Studies and Research is an Indiana Counselors Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA) accepted distance learning provider of prevention education.
Education Requirements and Courses
Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS)
Documentation of 100 hours of education or training specific to the domains including:
- 50 hours alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) specific education
- 6 hours of prevention ethics
- 6 hours of HIV/STI education
A maximum of 33% of education hours may be completed through distance learning trainings.
