COVID-19 Update: The Idaho Board of Alcohol/Drug Counselor Certification (IBADCC) has waived the 50% face-to-face requirement for continuing education and the 2 hour face-to-face ethics continuing education requirement for all substance abuse certifications.
You may now complete all coursework through approved distance learning programs.
Ethics for Addiction Professionals (6 hours) may be used to satisfy the professional ethics requirement.
Documentation of 270 hours of education with no less than 30 hours in each of the following IC&RC Performance Domains and Tasks:
Documentation of 6 hours of training in Professional and Ethical Responsibilities specific to substance abuse counselors including federal and state laws, client welfare as a primary concern, professional competence supervision/development, financial issues, personal wellness, and relationships to professionals and institutions.
There is no limit on the number of contact hours that can be earned through home study distance learning trainings.
